My back yard right now!

The snow has been teasing us all day, and finally decided to get serious. This is the view out my back door right now! Can''t wait to see if it decides to pile up! You can see that Fred is not a big snow fan!

First Snow!

I know this barely qualifies as much more than thick frost, but hey it's snow!
We woke up to the tinniest skiff of snow this morning, and as you can see it didn't deter the kids for one second. They didn't even take time to put on warm clothes. It was PJ's for them!

The took it upon themselves to dig around in the shed and get the sled out. They even pulled Landon all over the yard. He loved being chauffeured around in his chariot.

It got to be time to head to church so they reluctantly came in the house, frozen like little popsicles!

Rainy Day on Rainy Day Farm!

We are having a down day here at Rainy Day Farm.

Just look at those skies. It looks like mid-January around here. The chitlens are sick and after all the glorious sun we have had this summer, they gray days are back for a bit. We woke up to steel gray skies mixed with a bit of thunder. We have been enjoying the thunder though. We were all snuggled in our bed with the window open and listening to the low rumbles across the sky.

The animals are hiding out in the barn. Even though we live in a very wet state, ironically none of our animals like to be wet. Go figure! Yes, that is a chicken on the back of the goat. We have animals that like to use each other as furniture. Even more strange is that they put up with it? Animals are always a great form of entertainment.

The garden is very dark and gray today. The rain is great for it, and I am sure it will be evident in about a week, when the sun returns and it gets a needed rain boost.

The fairy garden too is enjoying the rain and life giving water, but non the less it is gray. I hope the fairies are safely tucked inside their little homes. I must remember to get around to posting the pictures of the completed garden. The kids and I have been working on it all summer.

The back yard is wet and gray, just like winter. It makes me want to bake some bread and whip up a yummy soup recipe.

Addison has been hit the least. She has just had a dandy of a sore throat and headache. Even when she is sick and grumpy this is about what she looks like. She is a happy child, much to our relief!

Poor Logan has been hit the hardest with this nasty bug. He has been running a fairly good fever and coughing like a smoker. He even turned down a cookie this morning. You know he is not feeling well when he turns down sweets. Poor little guy!

Landon is being a bit stubborn and not resting very much. He is too busy to be slowed down my measly cold.

Come Heck or High Water, or just High Water!

We have had some pretty interesting weather the past few years around here. We don't even get too excited about it anymore. It seems that there is some major weather disaster every year now. After all the snow melting the other day and now a tropical down poor that is melting snow everywhere and sending water shooting down on us lowlanders, and even some highlanders.
Being the looky-loos (I have not idea how to spell that one) that we, are we had to jump in the car and check out all the carnage. Robb and I loved it, but the kids got very quiet in the back seat and said they were scared. I forgot what it is like when you are small and don't have a lot of control in your life.
Anyway, here are a few of the pictures that we caught, because everything is blog worthy now! Side note, I don't want to scare anyone, we are fine, even though we have a nice moat around our house. The water is running off our land a the pump is working its little gears out for us under the house. No worries, yet!

These are just a few of our fun snow pictures. The land was so beautiful covered in quiet blanket of white. I love the snow hanging on the trees. The kids had so much fun playing in all the snow that by day six they stayed inside all day. I never thought my kids could get sick of the snow, but wonders never cease.

We started to get a bit of cabin fever and decided to go out and see how much snow there was around town. Then we started looking for deep snow to squirrel around in. We had a bit of fun and Robb did a few cookies in the road. The kids had a blast, except for Landon. He didn't think it was to fun and was crying when I got in.

Dashing through the Snow!

This is a little of how we have been enjoying the snow.
