Kid Playground!

No it's not one of those 1001 piece sets for kids, but for my goat kids. I have been working on this project for a few weeks and it has been a fun one. I have been scrounging up supplies for the past month to make this goat jungle gym, and the only cost was $13.00 for nails and staples. I am going to paint it red this summer to match the chicken coop. Right now it looks a little bit hillbilly and we like to keep things cute around Rainy Day Farm. (just a side note, the green thing in the background is an old street sweeper brush that the goats use to scratch their little goat itches)I got the spools from our local PUD for free. They even loaded them into the trailer for us. These suckers are HEAVY. It was hard for Hubby and I to move them around at all, except the baby one. We had the wood and the roofing material already from previous projects. We had to put the roofing paper on, because the wood gets too slippery for the goats to climb, plus it helps file their hooves.

Here is Pearl having the maiden climb. She loves to get up and lay on the small spool. Did I mention that Pearl is (hopefully) going to have babies the first part of July? I can't wait to post about that.
See, she is the queen of the castle. There is no way she is going to let Sunna have her spot.

Sunna was the brave one and the first to get up really high and check things out. What a brave little girl she is. The goats LOVE having a place to lay down and chew their cud! Goats like to have something to lay on besides the ground. (looks like I need to paint the gate too)

Freyr was so fascinated by the camera and all the noises it was making. He kept creeping towards me with that typical goat curiosity. Doesn't he have the cutest face! I think I better go out and give him a squeeze right now! Thanks for stopping by the farm.
