Chandelier Makeover

I have wanted to replace the chandelier over my table since the day the builder put that ugly thing in. I have looked high and low and couldn't find what I want, in my price range, price range being the key word here. This is one that I liked,

but $1,100.00 was just a few pennies out of my price range. I know it has saddles on it, but I like to decorate my house with all things cowboy! I will show you a few things in another post, but for now we're here on the chandelier.
I have been so inspired by other blogs and what they do with a can of spray paint! The things they do are amazing, so I thought I would give it a try. Here is the same, chandelier painted matte black.

Bit of a difference. I didn't say anything when we had a family gathering, to see if anyone noticed that the icky gold chrome light was different. My mom thought we had gotten a new light! I was so excited with the change, that I have tucked away my dream of the saddle chandelier until I get one of these...

So now you know my secret dream! Although, I must admit that I want one of these smaller, I don't want to have to clean a monster like that. No Way Hose! What's your secret dream?

Chandelier looks great, and don't ya love it when it costs no more than a can of spray paint! We have a log cabin very similar to this not far from my home, I pass it everyday, and it is nestled back in the woods, I just love it. My secret dream.... hhhmm... I wanna be a rock star, no wait... I really want to travel the world. There are so many places I want to see.

Yes chandelier looks awesome! Good thinking :) That is an awesome log cabin house, you should totally dream to have it that big cuz you know if you can afford a house that big you can afford to pay someone to clean it! lol

I have been staring at the chandelier in my dining room wanting to do just THAT to it. It's an "okay" shape, like you, I'm so over the shiny brass. I'm too afraid to actually paint it though. First of all, I think my hubby would kill me. I'd just do it without telling him, but, I need his help to take it down and get it outside.
