How 'Bout them Cowgirls!

What have I started! I was working with Fred yesterday and the kids said they wanted to have a ride. So I put them on and led them around. That was good for Logan and then he was off playing kick ball with Grandpa, but Addison fell in love. I could not get her off and she kept pushing the envelope. First she wanted me to let go of the lead, then she wanted me to get out of the way so she could handle things herself. If I hadn't said no, I think she would have taken off at a gallop across the field her fist time controlling a horse. She had no fear and decided that this is her new passion. She has now started bugging me to ride everyday. She even wanted to go out after breakfast this morning. "UUUUUHHHHH No, we have church," was my reply. Then she asked if she could ride after church, "UUUUUUHHHHH No, it is Sunday." The conversation moved on to, "How about tomorrow before school?!? UUUUUHHHHH No, how about after school." (Sneaky motivation to get school done quickly! Aren't I smart?) No, I never should have put her up there in the first place, I have a feeling I just lost my horse to a seven year old, and opened up the door to a whole world of expense. Lessons, tack, and hay, Oh My! I can just hear her asking to show, and do 4-h and that will be it for my horse! I love that she is enthusiastic about riding and sharing my passion, but Fred is mine! (As I mentally stamp my foot.)I guess that Kentucky horse blood runs as strong as ever, just moving on to the next generation. We'll see where it leads.

Nothing quite like a girl falling in love. Just keep her busy with the horse so she won't start thinking about boys, (that will come soon enough)

I think she looks adorable up there! And pretty comfortable too.

Ohh, Addison is now living out my childhood dreams of having my very own horse to ride. Now I'm jealous, I think I might have to come over for a ride too!
