Christmas Baking

Yesterday I got together with my Mom, Sister, and Sister-in-law for our annual Christmas Baking day. We get together and go crazy with the sugar, butter, flour, and chocolate. We each make about 3-4 different items and then pool our resources and come home with a staggering amount of sweets. I am sure you are wondering WHY we have so MUCH, we do use these for gifts and put some away in the freezer for later.

The best part of the day is all the funny things we talk about. Kids, husbands, hunky movie stars, and of course food.
Don't these pretzel rods look divine?

It takes all day to come up with this sugar bounty, but it is well worth it. It has be come a fun tradition that we all look forward to every Christmas.

We are much more tired that we look here in the picture. That or we are hopped up on sugar!

Merry Christmas and happy baking!

WOWZA!!!! Those look like a bunch of deeee licious stuff.
I have not baked ONE solitary thing.
I would kill for some homemade Christmas fruit cake, shortbread, sugar cookies, fudge,...........
Without my family or grandkiddies here to cook for there is really no need........cause that's the LAST thing I need to sit around and eat.
It is so fun that you and your family gets together to do this. It's always fun tackling "jobs" with others around to laugh with

have a marevlous Christmas

Looks awesome as always. I plan on making about 5 things this year. Maybe I'll do one or two each day for the next couple of days starting tomorrow. It would be way more fun to do it with others though. It looks like you guys had a great time. Joseph and I made Puppy Chow tonight...does that count?? Miss you guys.

WOW! I remember your bounty from last year too. You ladies ROCK the Christmas goodie in a day challenge!!

Maria, you and your sister look so much alike you could be twins. I'm serious, it is especially evident in this pics. This is such a great shot... I can see it cropped just a tiny bit, and in print with all these yummy goodies in the forefront. Very cool tradition.

I love this tradition! Looks like another great year of treats. You've motivated me to go start that baking I've been procrastinating!
