Frugal Friday

Rainy Day Farm

Today's Frugal Friday is how to make your own peanut butter. I saw this recipe of course on Grocery Cart Challenge. This sounded intriguing because I really can't stand that that the PB had hydrogenated oil. I don't like all the chemicals that are taking the place of natural ingredients in our foods, so if I can make things myself I might as well. So here is the recipe.

Homemade Peanut Butter

You'll need....a food processor

1 1/2 cups unsalted, roasted peanuts

2 tablespoons peanut oil

1/4 teaspoon salt

Honey

Pour all ingredients in food processor and process until creamy.

Gail from the Grocery Cart Challenge says they added 2 tablespoons of local farmers market honey to sweeten it up a bit but if you're already used to the all natural peanut butter it tastes just fine without it.

That sounds yummy! We love natural peanut butter. Do you keep it in the fridge? How long does it last?

Yummy, this looks so good, I bet it would be good with cashews too!
