Frugal Friday Tip #3

Wow! It's Friday again! I swear it was just Friday. Does it seem like it was just Friday to you?

Today I am going to share an easy fix idea. We have kids. Can you see where this is going? Oh yeah! They broke something. You know the kind, they run, they jump, they swing from drawer fronts! Yes, my boys have somehow ripped off the drawer fronts on two different kitchen drawers. Don't ask me how, but it has happened twice. The first time we took the drawer to a cabinet shop and paid $45.00 to have it fixed. Well I don't know about you, but $45.00 can go 150 different ways around here, so this time I went to Walmart and found these little buggers for $1.53.

Handy Hubby showed up to do the job just right! He had lots of help from Addison & Logan. They just love to help Dad out when he is fixing something. I think it makes them feel important, as they should. Here is the drawer before the fix. Pretty narly looking right?

Hubby pre-drilled a few holes for the brackets. Look at him work that drill!

Next, screw in the bracket to the side of the drawer, then on the drawer front itself.

Hubby decided to Logan & Landon proof this sucker and put on 4 brackets. I don't think Superman could rip this thing off now!

Good as new. Now my dish rags and kitchen towels will be tucked away safely in their little home! A big thank-you to Hubby for doing the labor! It looks so much better! I was beginning to feel a little like a hill billy. We have reached the statute of limitations on getting this thing fixed in a reasonable amount of time. We were starting to look like slackers. We can't have that now, can we? I can sleep well tonight!
