New Man in My Life!

So my friend called and asked if I wanted a rooster. A big fat NO what what first came to mind,I think the girls should get to live in peace, but hubby has wanted one of these chickens forever.
So I said OK, we can d give it a try.
Who knows maybe he will be man enough to take on the Bald Eagle who thinks my girls are it's own personal chicken nuggets.

So my friend and her chicken lovin' hubby brought over the newest member of Rainy Day Farm. Meet "Danny Boy"! Yup! It's true we have a big beautiful "Gentle Giant" rooster. (Sorry about the fuzzy pic, the batteries were dying on my camera.)

He even has those leg feathers to make him even more handsome with the ladies. I don't think my old gals care much because all they do is run from him. As handsome as he is they don't seem to be all that interested.

He is quite the looker isn't he. He is still young and is still learning how to crow. He is getting better at it though. He sounded like a teenage boy whose voice is changing when we first got him. But now he is starting to sound like a confident 20 something male. Maybe is a few months he will be the Hugh Jackman of chickens. Maybe we will even enter this bad boy in the fair next year? Who knows!

Nothing says "I Love You" like a great pair of leg feathers!
