Time to get organized!

Head on over to Kimba's

for more A soft Place to Land for DIY ideas!

On our great day of Junkin' my mom found this desk at our last stop and bought it. By the time we got home she had me convinced to trade this one for a smaller one I already had and did not like. I have been using my laptop at the table and it is not very comfortable and I have to move my computer every time we need to sit at the table! So she went home with mine and I headed to Home Depot for paint and knobs.

It was painted very poorly and was a bit of a mess. I put quite a bit of work into it. I still haven't figured out why they didn't paint the drop down! Go figure!

After a dark gray primer, a good coat of Colonial Red spray paint, new handles and a lot of elbow grease, I managed to finish my new desk.

I really love this new, much larger desk. I didn't realize how much I utilized this desk until I had to put everything into a box. It was a nightmare to try and find an envelope or a phone number. I almost cried when my Hubby asked for a phone number. I said, "Please don't make me go in there!" I used my best puppy dog eyes to get out of it. But, I survived and now love having my very own space.

Hope you enjoyed my transformation!

Great redo on the desk. I like all the drawers and the fact you can close it up when you need to to hide any clutter. Love the color!

This is a great make over. I don't know that I would have bought the desk in the first place. I can see now how easily (except for your labor) it is to transform. Fabulous.

This is a perfect "lady size" desk for you! The red gives it just that touch of fun it needs--so it won't be all business. You had a great eye for its possibilities!

I love it! I have an armoire I've been wanting to paint red, but haven't been able to dare myself to actually do it. I think I may just do it finally!
