My Great Day!

I have to say that this was the best birthday I have had in a while. Last year my hubby had mono and I had just had a baby in March, so you can imagine it was not the best. But this year my hubby outdid himself. He did everything that I wanted too, and he was a good sport about it! He got up with Landon, made me breakfast. Not just cold cereal or toast, but crepes! As you can see they were yummy! One of these days I will get around to posting the recipe, but for now you will just have to salivate.

After that luscious breakfast I went outside with Addison and got to work with my horse Fred. I did a bunch of ground work (to wear him out). It didn't take much, because he has not been ridden since last fall and he is sporting quite the grass belly. Both of us need to do a little bit of working out. So then I got on and rode him around the field. He doesn't have his shoes on yet, so we had to stay in the field for now. After I got him mellow, I let Addison get on and take him for a spin. He is so patient with her. He does whatever she wants. He is such a sweet horse, but I will talk about him in another post.

After my riding time, we jumped in the car and headed to Lowe's to buy some plants for the yard with my b-day money and gift certificate (thanks Tasha & Jason). We bought some English Boxwood plants to put in front of my porch railing. I don't have an after pic, but I will soon.
Everyone I talked to unenthusiatically said, "Oh, you worked in the yard? I guess that's fun." It was exactly what I wanted to do. I got to boss my hubby around and have him do some hard labor for me. It was great. Thanks for being such a good sport Robb!
After slaving away in the yard we decided to go to my favorite Chinese restaurant, so I didn't have to cook on my b-day. It's just sick and wrong to have to cook on your birthday, unless your into that kind of thing. This is my kids being goofy while we waited for our bounty! Goof balls!

This is my hubby and I, remember that we had just spent 5 hours moving about 25 plant. We were pretty wiped out!

After dinner we had my favorite birthday cake, German chocolate. I love that yummy frosting, and of course the kids hated it, so they just had ice cream. That was my plan from the beginning, I knew they would hate it, so that meant more for me! Aren't I a mean mommy?

And after the kiddies were all tucked into bead, this is how I ended my perfect day......

enough said! Hope your birthday's are just as great for you!

Holy Mackerel, looks like I need to put Robb in charge of my birthday! :) Glad you had a fun day - crepes, cake, riding a horse, spending money/working on making your yard cuter, dinner out and a soak in the tub, sounds perfect to me!
