Girl Time!

My cute daughter asked me if we could have some girl time. Her version of girl time is going to the mall and buying something in the Bath & Body Works store (she is such a girly girl)and going out to eat. My version is "how can I get something accomplished and still have fun spending time together".

So we made banana bread together. She does not usually get to bake with me because little brother is always my helper and we all know baking with two kids is, not the most peaceful thing in the world. So we put brother on the computer donned our aprons and set to work.

We turned on our trusty Kitchen-Aid mixer and followed the recipe from my well worn Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook, but I also add chocolate chips to the recipe. What is life without chocolate chips? Lifeless, need I way more.

Banana Bread
1 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1 c. mashed bananas (2 to 3 bananas
1/3 c. butter, softened
2 T. milk
2 Eggs
1 c. chocolate chips

Combine 1 cup flour the sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add banana; butter, and milk. Mix until blended, then beat on high speed for 1 minute. Add eggs and remaining flour and mix until blended. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan or 4 mini loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Enjoy!

I love to use my .Pampered Chef stoneware mini loaf pan. They make the cutest little loaves, and you don't feel so bad about eating a few slices, because they are so small.

This is how they look fresh out of the oven. Can't you just smell them in all there yumminess? I wish we could email smell. Wouldn't that be fun! "Hey I got some new perfume, want to smell it? Ok! I will email it to you in just a second." Funny huh? Let's get Bill Gates right on that.

I just had to put in a picture of my farm fresh eggs. My girls work very hard for these and we really enjoy having our own eggs. Chickens are the funniest animals. They really are all like old ladies. No wonder women are always compared to clucking hens, always chattering over this and that.

Ok, I just had to add a picture of a couple of my girls. Aren't they so cute. My favorite thing about my chickens is when they run. It is just dang funny. You will have to come visit to see what I mean. It's a hoot!

Here we are...the happy bakers, or more like the happy tasters. Let me tell you that banana bread was just as good as it looked. Happy Baking and go spend some quality time with your children!

I love baking with my boys too. Your pampered chef pan made me depressed, I dropped my favorite Pamp Chef bar pan yesterday and broke it. I'm on a roll with my breadmaker and now this. I love your chickens, they always make my day (and your goat, and your horse, you farm girl, you!)
